I dont think we will be putting any of the wedding pics on this blog. There are just too many and I would have trouble deciding which ones should be here. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as we have!

Right now there are two seperate sites you can purchase prints from. The higher quality (and higher priced) prints are at pictage. The less expensive and more economical photos are on smugmug. The Smugmug site is a little harder to navigate and find certain photos you are looking for but just browse a bit and you will figure it out. Also the pictage site allows you to make favorites folders of your favorite pictures from the collection. Its fun and you can do it while you browse plus it helps us know which ones you like which is cool. Again if you have trouble finding something just let me know.

We’re Married! October 17, 2008

Well, if you haven’t guessed, we are now officially married. I guess thats what happens at a wedding. Honestly we are both in a state of awe. The actual wedding day went by so fast that we don’t remember half of what happened. So, needless to say we are very eager to get the photos to help remind us. I have had numerous calls and emails about the pics. Right now the weddings pics from our photographer are still being proofed and edited but should be out shortly. The honeymoon was nothing short of amazing. San Anotnio was beautiful, the hotel was wonderful, and we both came back 5 pounds lighter from all of the walking. We also took our camera and spent about 3 hours on tuesday just taking pictures downtown and at the riverwalk. Feel free to take a look at them; they are on my flickr account. Thanks to everyone who made this day possible. We could not have done this without all of your help. To the parents: We have something very special we are doing for you but it may take just a little while so be patient for us while we get that all together for you. It will be worth the wait!

We are off to a great start so far and we can only expect things to go uphill from here!

11 Days and Counting September 30, 2008

We’ve been spending an unusual amount of time doing wedding stuff lately. I wonder why that is.

 We spent several hours putting wedding favors together and other such things. i was in charge of the favor boxes. Needless to say I was a little bored.  

In other news, my family threw us a nice party at my grandmother’s house. It was almost like a 3rd wedding shower! The highlight of the show was of course the food, but also the amazing quilt my grandma made for ash and me. Needless to say it was quite an event and we had a great time.

19 Days and Counting…. September 22, 2008

Well, only 19 days left before the big day. I woke up this morning thinking…. is this really happening? Am I really getting married in less than three weeks!? Needless to say I am very excited! Im also relieved at the same time – all this planning, preparation, and stress will finally pay off.

Ashley’s co-workers threw us a bridal shower a few weeks ago which was just awesome. I enjoyed finally getting to go to one! We have been so blessed by our friends and family in the way of support, gifts, and most importantly – your prayers. Our thanks go out to everyone who has helped us in preparing for our future together.

Unbelievably, we have nearly completed all the things we need to do for the wedding. Right now we are mainly finishing up the last minute details and decorations. Im trying to find someone in the waco area who can move a piano for cheap. Since I used to sell pianos you would think I would know more people, but unfortuantly its still a challenege. If anyone knows anyone who does this be sure to give me their names! Once we get the duplex furnished (i.e. couch, dinner table, etc.), I might be posting some pictures. If anyone has any requests for reception music please email them to me so I can get the songs added in to our list. Thanks everyone!

Bridal Shower August 11, 2008

Though I wasn’t there, I have been told by various parties that the bridal shower went very well yesturday. Our thanks to everyone involved in making this event work. Thanks also to everyone who came and anyone who helped us with your gifts. We appreciate you all and we are very grateful.

Schedules, Locations, Attire July 28, 2008

Though we don’t currently have everything figured out to the minute here is a rough schedule for the day of the rehersal dinner and the day of the wedding. Also I have included links to google maps of the locations we will be using for these events. Google likes to change its maps every now and then, so if any of these links dont work for you please let me know so I can update them. Just click on the locations to see the map. Also, attire for the wedding party is listed below.

A Rundown of the weekends events:

Friday 10/10 -

At 6:30pm we will start the rehersal dinner at the Hampton Inn.

There will be no actual rehersal at the rehersal dinner, it is just a dinner for the wedding party to have a party; meet, greet, and eat. You get the idea. The actual rehersal will be on Saturday morning.

Saturday 10/11 -

Ashley and I will be at the wedding site setting up as soon as they open their doors between 8-9a. We would greatly appreciate help from anyone who is willing and able. There are plenty of things to do so if you want to help just bring some comfortable clothes that morning. I will update this post as soon as I know when the rehersal will start. The hard part is trying to plan a solid time for that when we haven’t been able to schedule times for hair appointments and such. We will probably shoot for about 10:00-10:30a just to be safe and the actual rehersal will only take about 30 minutes.

Attire:

Rehersal Dinner:

Over all, this is a semi-formal dinner. Guys please wear slacks+dress shirt+tie. Ladies - a dress or slacks.

The wedding party attire is as follows:

Gentlemen if you can wear a suit with solid color or black tie. The groomsmen will be wearing black suits, black shoes, black socks , white shirt, silver tie.

Ladies, a dress will suffice. Please try to choose a color that will compliment the bridesmaids dresses though. But dont feel like you have to wear pink. Im sure the moms will want to coordinate. Engagement Photos June 23, 2008

Yes, yes; i know we were engaged over a month and a half ago, but hey its been busy and we wanted to make sure we got a very good photographer. So, we had our photoshoot this past Saturday evening and we are going to pick up the picture files from the photographer tomorrow night. I will try to post them that night, but it might not happen until Wednesday.

I am putting a link to the photographers website up in the links section if you want to view her work and/or book her for your own events sometime. She’s awesome! She will also be the photographer we will use for the bridal portraits and the wedding itself.

Changing gears… So far we are looking at having about 65-75 people at the wedding. That’s including the wedding party. It will be a dry wedding (not literally) so come prepared to be sober. BYOB is definantly off.

Now that I have a captive audience and you are destined to finish reading this post, I can take this time to spill my guts. Though i know there will be plenty of time for thank you’s later, Im going to start now anyway… From the very first day after the proposal, we both knew that this wedding would be something we would have to work hard on to make it relatively inexpensive while still being beautiful and tasteful. Our budget has constantly been a source of stress and something we have had to pay a considerable amount of attention too. That being said, the selfless courtesy and absolute kindness that my family has shown us through financial support has been overwhelming and wonderful. We had no idea the generosity of my family members would be so, well – generous. Our stress factor has been lessened so much thanks to the support of family members who have pitched in to help pay for even the smallest things. So to all of you who have generously supported us – either by helping financially or prayerfully (or both) – THANK YOU!!!

Gift Registry/New Updates June 9, 2008

We are now set up with two gift registries: Bed Bath & Beyond and Target. We’ve already started putting gift ideas on both of these sites so feel free to check them out.

Im currently in the market for a new duplex in the Hewitt area. So far we’ve found a few that look promising. But due to the state of the market its a pretty shallow search and what does get put up goes fast.

We have selected a florist and floral designs. We also have two meetings with two seperate photographers this week to see about their options. Hopefully we will be able to get our engagement pictures shot as early as this coming weekend *crosses fingers.* Ashley is hoping to see her bridal dress come in this week or next so she can start the alterations, and Im going to start looking at new suits. Thats all I can think of right now.

Gift Registry June 5, 2008

I finally got around to signing up for the gift registry yesturday and we were able to head over to at least one store to start picking out gift ideas. So far we are registered with target.com and i plan to sign up with bed, bath, and beyond as well. Feel free to visit target.com if you would like. If you do a name search by my name, you will want to use my full first name Nathan instead of Nate. Both of these stores have the gift registries both online and in-store so keep that in mind. Obviously if you shope in store you will run into taxes, whereas the online stores will charge you shipping. If neither of these stores or websites are convienent to you please let me know.

As im typing, Ash is out talking to a florist in town. Later tonight we will be meeting with a photographer to find out some options. Thats all for now!
